There goes Kale, flying around the room

Hahaha, can you believe it?!

One minute she was pecking round my feet, the next she was soaring around our ceiling!

I told Kasper to leave her, although to be honest he was just sitting and watching in confusion anyway, and my partner scooped her up and deposited her back in the pen…well, I guess we won’t be letting the girls range whilst any of the dogs are out anymore πŸ˜€

She was really graceful haha, and she landed really well…but please Kale, just stay in there!

We had a Zooplus order today, mucho excitement! Two log tunnels:

A filled bone for Rey, four wooden jingley balls and three packs of treats!

Oh, and some dried duck necks…who knew the duck necks would be so much bigger than dried chicken necks we have had?!

We gave one to Kasper, and hopefully he crunched it down enough to not be sick…my partner said he did, so *fingers crossed*

He wasn’t stress yawning here, he was mid-crunch!

With the zooplus order I gave the pigs some hides and toys…we’ve seen a little rumblestrutting, but it’s still going great – I caught all three snuggle-napping in the blue box today πŸ™‚

And the quail had a look at a jingley ball too…they are unimpressed πŸ™‚

My parents are coming up to collect some more chickens for their flock today…two Brahmas as their Brahma girl died, and a Pilkie which is a Silkie x Pekin…she looks insanely cute!

They are stopping by to see us, so I’ll drag them in to see our girls haha.

I’m not feeling very up to socialising at all and would have called it off, but if I see them now I can give my mum her mother’s day stuff…plus I’d get to go see their new chickens and help pick them πŸ˜‰

    • She’s so cute, and surprisingly big!! Has a very Silkie-ish look (no pom pom crest covering her eyes though which is cool) but ‘normal chicken’ feathers instead of Silkie fluff! I’ll post a pic as soon as I have one πŸ˜€

      • Ahhh cool πŸ˜€ Someone in our village has dozens of chickens (we walk past the garden just to see them haha!) and they have what looks to be a Silkie x Light Sussex – crazy looking! Silkie size, buff in colour, but slightly different feathering and with the Sussex speckles around the neck!

    • I didn’t get to take photos of the chickens BUT my dad will be sending me some, so as soon as I get them I will post them πŸ˜€

The two Brahmas (big, big girls) were from a rescue and the Pilkie was from a really cool chicken fancier…it was really fun looking around and interacting with all the chucks!

    • Oh no guinea pigs, haha sorry for the confusion!!

I do LOVE pigs though, and would really enjoy an indoor pet pig…would be fantastic to clicker train one!! My Aunt had an indoor pet pig years before I was born, and it was apparently very sweet and easy to toilet train.

My dad desperately wants some ‘micro’ pigs (I’ve told him they generally grow to the size of a Labrador!!) as they’re one of the few animals my mum isn’t allergic to…my mum isn’t as keen on the idea though πŸ˜‰

      • That’s what I’ve been saying to convince my boyfriend! I think it would be an awesome experience to train a pig! And I was quite taken with micro pigs for a while as well, then I found out the truth! But I am sure there are some breeds that stay relatively small. More research is needed! πŸ˜‰

      • Haha definitely! When I was sixteen I raised a baby lamb because the mother was ill, I had her for six weeks from when she was less than a day old…she was a lot of effort and I didn’t know anything about animal training then so never taught her anything, but she was amazing. She followed me everywhere and would walk at my side in a perfect heel wherever I went…farm animals can make the best pets πŸ˜€
