Yesterday we took Zoey along to our village hall, so she could explore a new environment, practice her training and enjoy some zoomies!
Now Zoey hardly ever goes to new places, because she is just SO excited to greet people it’s…difficult XD
She’s been to ‘new’ places every time we’ve moved house with her (three times), but the new place then becomes her place, and she’s been to the vets – that’s it! So I was very interested to see how she would do somewhere new!
We went through the main door and immediately let her off lead, then directed her into the huge hall. Of course, she was surprisingly awesome and rocked it 😉
She was totally comfortable in a new place, but even more amazing she wasn’t crazy-hyper-I’m-going-to-leap-at-your-face with us…she was following cues and generally being a super star 🙂
We worked on a range of tricks…sit (obviously), leg weaves, leg touches (paw on outstretched leg), wait / stay, speak, recall, touch (her *favourite*) and running to heel, which she also loves and is bloody good at!!
She had SO MUCH FUN and (possibly best of all) she was knackered and slept for hours afterwards 😉
We had an absolute whale of a time with her. She hardly ever gets to have a good old run off lead, and the hall is much easier than taking her to the secure field; we’d have to get a taxi there and back to the field with Zoey, whereas the hall is easy to walk to 🙂
