Christmas has been as hectic as ever, what with a visit from my parents, Christmas day with our pups then at our friends’ house, and Boxing day with my partners’ parents…phew!
I’m pleased to say that the pups had a very lovely Christmas, and we only ended up leaving them for an hour and a half (of course Zoey still had to scream the house down when we returned!). Christmas morning was full with sharing gifts and, for the first time ever, ZOEY OPENED HER OWN PRESENTS!!! 😀
It was incredible…in fact she seemed to enjoy tearing the paper more than the gift itself!
I love that video; my favourite part just has to be when Kasper is unwrapping the Nylabone, obviously expecting food…when he discovers nothing but plastic he is so, so disappointed – oh Kasper, such a gracious dog XD
Zoey with her Christmas nylabone!
They did get more gifts than that, but most the others were edible, and with Kasper being such a greedy sod we thought it better not to let him unwrap edible things!!
Since Christmas the area we live in has been struck with frost – very, very slippy frost! Today we were walking Zoey to the beach, and the road we have to walk down is fenced on either side, narrow and has no pavements. Patches of the road were covered in very obvious, thick white frost.
On our way back from the beach we heard a car approaching from behind and, as she has been trained to do, Zoey tucked herself into the narrow grass verge and eagerly awaited her treats! Well the car mustn’t have seen the frost and was driving way, way too fast. When it finally did notice, the driver panicked and slammed on the brakes – cue car veering madly all over the road, still approaching us at some speed…AAAGH!
It was one of the scariest moments of my life and, as there was a tall barbed wire fence at either side of the road, there was absolutely nothing we could do. Thankfully the car regained control before it reached us and we weren’t mown down, but man it was scary 🙂
We’ve had a lazy night in after a busy day out shopping; here are some pics of the pups being cute!
They were watching my partner with the treats here!
And I adore these next two – Zoey’s face has me in stitches every time I look at it!
Finally, from everybody here, we wish you a very Happy New Year! 😀
