What with dog walking, dog training and other things we have had on our plate, we have been so busy!
I still can’t wait for this weekend when I get to meet a family members’ Airedale Terrier puppy, though 😉 He is 18 weeks old, they got him at 9 weeks old, and he already has quite a few issues…he isn’t toilet trained, he doesn’t like his crate, he doesn’t have basic training, he jumps up and nips and he hasn’t met many other dogs…here’s hoping I can provide the tools the owners need to work towards fixing all that though – and I get to meet a cute puppy in the process 😉
Both our pups are doing very well with their training. I am working with Zoey on her not getting over-excited when exciting things happen…I can now flap my hands in her face, tap her on the nose, and generally be a pain in the behind and she will just sit there waiting for a treat…good girl 🙂 Other than that I am also working at getting both pups even more used to having all their bodies handled and stroked, whilst they remain calm…Kasper is already great, but Zoey still has a ways to go yet 😉
We had a lovely walk at Warton Crag with Zoey yesterday; it’s a very impressive sight, but kind of scary too!
Zoey was, as always, very interested in all the sniffs and smells the world had to offer. She’s such a very delicate sniffer; whereas Kasper will race in there, knocking everything aside, Zoey is so gentle! I tried to get a photo of her doing ‘gentle sniffs’, but she was very unimpressed…look at those pinned back ears, poor girl!! 🙂
And posing, as ever 😉 See those little muddy legs? Well, she made sure to spread that mud everywhere on our nice cream carpet when she got back home! My abused partner had to spend a good 15 minutes on his hands and knees scrubbing away every speck of mud hahaha!
